Archery

Archery is a great activity and can be a fun one to teach in schools in done properly. To start off the session of archery we learned how to string and un-string the bows. We then learned the importance of teaching archery in steps. The steps of doing archery are, ready your bow, knock your arrow, draw your bow, and fire when ready. While doing this I realized how important it is to go through these steps in schools. The person with the bow is excited to shoot and can sometimes let the excitement get in the way of safety. By repeatedly going through these steps verbally we can make the archery range a safer place. Archery is a great lifetime activity and is something that I think should be taught in schools.
